I am a GC in Alabama. Lien was filed due to non-payment. Homeowner went to refinance the home and "realized" a lien had been placed on the property. (For the record the entire process was followed correctly) Now, the title company is saying they can not release payment until the Release of Lien is filed and Lien is off the record. Is that normal or no?
