I paid past property tax on behalf of the company. The company did not have any funds to pay the invoice. Can I file a lien on the company property for the principal amount they owe with interest for the time the debt amount has been outstanding?

Mechanic's liens are generally limited to work and materials supplied by contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, laborers, and material suppliers on a work of improvement. You would need to file a lawsuit, obtain a judgment, and then record an abstract of judgment against the company to have a lien on its real property - or obtain a deed of trust to secure the amount owed. Depending on the company's structure and governing documents, you may have other remedies obtain payment from the company short of litigation.
