I want to withdraw a lien I filed--the statute does not seem to provide anything on that. How do I go about getting rid of the lien? TAhnks

Releasing a mechanics lien is a relatively simple process. Much like the lien filing, a lien release will require the claimant to fill out a relatively simple form which states that the lien is being released and that document must be filed with the county, much like the lien was recorded.
As you mentioned above, the state's lien statute doesn't provide much insight into what information must appear on a Kansas lien waiver form. But, generally, it's a good idea to include the information below. Though, it's also a good idea to contact the county recorder to see if they have any specific information or document requirements.
- The recording information of the lien that was filed (i.e. the book and page no.)
- The name of the party releasing the lien
- The name of the owner
- The address of the property that was liened
- A statement on why the lien is being released
- A signature of the lien claimant
As a final note, keep in mind that online services - including Levelset - can help assist with recording a mechanics lien release.
