Hello i’m not a license contractor I entered into this project for the son/alex neill of the owner/ robert neill had dead ! Alex was my roommate that i let live with me in California witch he owes me $55000.00 for room &broad i saved the trailer by paying lot rent then we flied out Minnesota n cleaned it his father &his roommate smoked 3 packs of cigarettes each a day then i repaired 3 floor josts &replaced the subfloor !hen the waterheater malfunctioned had to drill tap out the bottom heating element & clean calcium build up out the unit!!then electrical crossovers went out creating a open natural condition backfeeding 220 to furnace stove mircowave stereo overloading them so i replace all the outlets pig tailing them also all light fixtures his mother the surviving spouse signed title over to alex but because back taxes he unable to transfer itthen we were to sale trailer &alex was to give me the 55,000 owed to me

There's a lot going on here, and I don't think I totally understand the situation above. Still - even if someone passes away, claims against that person can generally be brought against their estate. Though, if the debts of the estate exceed the assets held by the estate, then it'd be hard to obtain payment. In the event that a claim could be made - pursuing a claim like unjust enrichment might make sense when there's no contract in place and where one party has unduly benefitted from the work of another.
