How many days after sending a Notice of Furnishing can I sent the Notice of Intent to Lien?

MichiganLien Deadlines

I am a sub-sub contractor who supplied materials and services to a large commerical construction project and never received payment. I sent the notice of furnishing and would like to know when I can proceed with the next step to send a Notice of Intent to Lien.

The Michigan mechanics lien laws do not specifically require a Notice of Intent to Lien to be sent prior to filing. However, we always recommend sending one. It's typically quite effective at inducing payment, before having to spend the time and money to file your claim. The only relevant deadline, for your purposes, would be the filing deadline; which is within 90 days after the last date you furnished labor or materials to the project.
