How long do you have to enforce a mechanics lien already filed in courts?

MissouriForeclosure

I have a mechanics lien against a company I did some work for. I want to enforce it further with a lawyer.

Under Missouri mechanics lien laws, an action to enforce the claim must be commenced within 6 months after filing the lien claim. Securing an attorney to help you through the enforcement action is always recommended, so you're already well ahead of the curve. Before going through a full lawsuit, there is one more step you can take to try and secure payment. This is known as a Notice of Intent to Foreclose. This isn't a required notice. But if you still have time before the enforcement deadline, this could be an easy cheap option to try and get paid. This is essentially sending a final warning shot informing the party that if you aren't paid within x amount of days, you are willing and able to enforce your claim in court. This is typically effective to get paid You can read How to File a Missouri Mechanics Lien for more information
