How do we lien a property with multiple APNs

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

Please see the response from Alex regarding liening this property. Mission Viejo Trails project. When it comes to listing multiple APN's, things can get tricky. We cannot confirm if the county will or will not accept, as it varies from county to county. Generally, a mechanic's lien is filed on 1 property/APN. If there are multiple, typically a separate lien would be required for each. I would definitely recommend submitting this to our Expert Center since it is such a unique case. Our in-house attorney's will be able to review and get back to you with what may be the best option proceeding forward: https://www.levelset.com/payment-help/ask-question/ This is regarding order 2719461. According to the maps, we worked on increments 4-8.

You should consult with a construction lawyer about your specific situation.  Your lawyer will want to know your specific role on the project, review any job information provided to you (as well as your preliminary notice and any contract documents), and may want to review the county recorder's records to help answer this question.  It may be that you file one lien if the APNs are part of one work of improvement (you will want separate liens for separate works of improvement, but may projects encompass multiple APNs that can be in one lien).  Often times, it is helpful to review a recorded construction deed of trust and other recorded documents which may help guide how you record the lien.
