I used some of my money for improvements on a property owned by Husband and wife. They are divorcing. The property was sold but husband back out and now I'm not able to collect my money unless I place a lien on the property. How do I do this.
Contact an attorney, or look on LevelSet's website for how to order a lien.
A lien must be recorded within 90 days from your last date of work. The fact that the property was sold is troublesome because the new owner was not the party that contracted you for their services. Recommendation for the future is to lien the property prior to it being sold.
