How do I get paid for a job that was paid with a check that had no funds?

I'm an employee of a small family business that does moving services (i.e. house rearrangement, furniture deliveries, office relocations, donating/hauling, etc.). Our company has moved a homeowner from Roanoke to Dallas that paid us with a check that has no funds. We've tried contacting the homeowner multiple times but they would not respond to our calls. What can I do to make sure that we get compensation for our work?
