The Ohio prevailing wage laws apply to public improvements that are financed in whole, or in part, by public funds. Whether the prevailing wage rates apply, depends on the type of project and the total project costs. For projects concerning buildings (as opposed to roadways, bridges, sewers, etc.) the project cost thresholds for the prevailing wage laws to apply are as follows:
  • New constructions: $250,000+
  • Reconstruction, alteration, or repairs: $75,000+
To find the applicable wage rates, you can head to the Affiliated Construction Trades of Ohio website, and click on your county to view a full list of trades and the applicable rates.
