You can either write on the face of the original lien that the matter has been settled and the clerk is authorized to mark the lien "cancelled" of record, then re-record the document. Or you can prepare a cancellation of lien along the lines of the following: ___________, a Georgia limited liability company acting by and through its attorney in fact and attorney at law, being the present record holder and owner of that certain Claim of Lien against property of [owner] and recorded at Book ___, page ______, ________ County Superior Court records, states that the indebtedness claimed in the Claim of Lien having been settled, the Clerk of the Superior Court of _________ County is hereby authorized and directed to mark the Claim of Lien cancelled and satisfied of record. ___________________________________ Signature
