How can we go about placing a lien on a business?

We live in Florida. We have a rental property that was set up as an Air B N B. We got hit with Hurricane Michael. The house we have was being rented out to a contstruction crew out of Texas. The last month they were to stay they did not pay the rent utilities a broken window, and house keeper. In the process they have stolen most of the items in the home. We are going thru the eviction process but would like to see if we can get our money from them. How can we do this through liens? Please advise

Mechanics liens are generally available for those who perform construction-related work but go unpaid for that work. And, those that go unpaid will generally only be entitled to lien the project property where work was performed. However, payments owed for other reasons - like for destruction of property or failure to pay rent - generally won't give rise to lien rights. Of course, other recovery options, like recovering payments due to the breached lease, could be available.
