Can you give me some advice. I have a new home contract with a builder in Florida. We signed the cost plus agreement in Sept 2020. We were given a budget of $727 to build. The project is still not even out of the truss engineering stage at the end of April 2021. When we finally had our budget meeting 2 weeks ago he presented us with a cost that was more than double the original contract. Now the cost is 1, 457,000 and that does not include the land we already own for the project. We cannot even begin to make that number work. He is now telling us that he wont even be able to break ground until October 2021, The whole house was supposed to be completed in December 2021. We have paid him $50,000 for basically the architectural renderings and nothing else. HELP
