how can i get my money bacvk on a car that i paid for from someone who didnt tell me the car was still under payments ho

i bought the car from this guy he said all i had to do was get the tital from texas.i paid him over half the money.then a friend told me that the car was still owed on in texas.i need to know what i can do now to keep him from getting the car until he pays me back
