How and can I file mechanic liens?

I'm the new Service Manager at an Auto Repair shop. We have balances that range from $200-$3100, some of the unpaid invoices are within 3-9 months of being 2 years since paid on or at all

Have you placed the accounts for collection with collection agency yet? These debts could be collected on a contingency bases, if no collection is made you owe nothing. Let me know any questions. Best regards, Steve

We have not placed with a collection agency at this time. Would that be a better suggestion verses a mechanic's lien?

You can assert a Garage Keepers lien. There are companies down in Springfield, Illinois that are very efficient and cost effective at obtaining title.
