We have a lien on a property and a collection attorney collected our funds back in July. They are stating that they will not release the funds without a recording of satisfaction of lien. Is this correct?

This sounds like some kind of issue between your company and its attorney. If yes, then I recommend that you either follow your attorney's advice or consult with another attorney about the matter.
