General question

Arizona

We purchased a 2 bedroom home for a year and eight months. What we now discover that there is a left side wall at the refrigerator closet in the pantry area does not line up in an angle with the back wall. I mean the front of the wall does not have the oppening as the back wall that joints with the back wall (angle with the back wall). This problem causes the refrigerator corner to be caught at that wall corner and it also affects to the cosmetic for the look. So, my question is, would this structure considers to be a structural defect?

"Construction defect” means a material deficiency in the design, construction, manufacture, repair, alteration, remodeling or landscaping of a dwelling and is caused by: (1) a violation of the applicable construction codes (2) faulty materials or equipment in the design, manufacture or repair of the house So the first thing you have to do to figure out if it is a construction defect is have a contractor look at it and tell you what the cause is.
