Fradulent claim of lien

MichiganMechanics Lien

I'm a licensed builder and owner of a home in Michigan. I have a PPO on this person and an assault charge pending. I did the renovations starting May 24, 2019 and completed them in August 1, 2019. It was listed on the MLS effective Aug. 16, 2019. the said person clearly stated on the claim of deed he renovated the home on Nov. 1, 2019 to April 17,2020. He placed lien for $7000.00. The renovations were complete in Aug. 2019. He did no work. What can I do now?

In this situation, it sounds like your best option is to file a lawsuit in state district court to vacate the lien. Unless this person hires a lawyer and responds to your complaint in court, you may be able to get a default judgment without having to spend too much time or money on legal proceedings. If the lien is completely fraudulent, as in this person never did any work on your property and was never even under contract, you may want to contact local law enforcement as well.
