Foreclosure or Bond

FloridaForeclosure

I built a construction add on for a client and the client is now leasing the space. But has not paid the cost of the work that I charged. I sent out a lien and now I want to foreclosure on the property so that I can retrieve the amount owed to me for the building of the add on additional room. Are you familiar with this type of situation and what can I do to get my money from this client.

You have one year after recording your lien to file suit against the owner. Contact an attorney and get a demand letter drafted, give the owner a few days to respond and then sue.

Yes, you have 1 year to file a construction lien foreclosure lawsuit. If you have a written contract or oral contract, you have 4 years to file a lawsuit to collect under your contract. First, hire an attorney to demand payment. If payment is not made timely, then have attorney file a lien foreclosure action / breach of contract action.
