Essential or non essential ? Specialty aluminum installation...screen enclosures, gutters, screen doors, garage screens, adding windows to a screen enclosure. My boss thinks this is essential. He is refusing to shut down. These are luxury installations. These installs are on residential homes not businesses. Location Hernando County Florida Please help

Florida's stay home order pretty broadly allows for construction and installations to carry on. By and large, most construction or installation work can be deemed "essential" even if the work isn't necessarily critical. And, it appears that the order is flexible enough that performing residential installations may well be considered essential - even if the work does seem to be pretty non-critical. With that being said, if you feel it's unsafe to go to work, then it might be possible to reach an arrangement with your employer or to simply refuse to report for work. And, even if a worker isn't actually terminated or unemployed, the new stimulus bill could help make sure money is coming in if you quarantine rather than work. Obviously, things can change in a hurry - so be on the lookout for announcements from your local and state governments.
