Do we have to wait until the homeowner sells the property to collect on the mechanic's lien if the home is paid for?

We are a Minnesota lawn care business. We did yard work (cleaned up the landscape) and billed the home owner ($1,660). The landowner refused to pay. The property is paid for and the owner is using it as a rental. If we issue a mechanic's lien will we have no recourse but to wait until the landowner sells the property?
