do I need to write all the builder licences

FloridaLicenses

I have been in the building industry for over 40 years in Canada, my building portfolio is well over 1 billion dollars worth of high-rise, commercial, residential, institutional projects. My goal is to semi retire in southern Florida and build a few high end Luxury homes. Will I need to write all the state licences or can I submit proof of experience?

Florida doesn't reciprocate licenses from other locations. Your past experience should be able to fulfil the experience portion of the state's licensure requirements, but you'll need to go through the standard application process in order to obtain a license there. Though, extensive prior experience should make the process easier. For help with the process, consulting with a Florida construction lawyer or using a service like Licenses, etc. might help. Additionally, Florida's contractor licensing portal is pretty useful, too: Florida DBPR.
