Hello I hired a lawyer to send a demand letter and it has been over a month and a half. He tells me that the delivery has not been confirmed yet. My questions are 1. do we need a delivery confirmation? and 2. I believe he sent this regular mail, can we send this priority or overnight, something faster to get confirmation of delivery?

You do not specify what type of demand letter. If a Notice of Intent then that must be sent certified mail return receipt. If a 'generic' demand letter, reflecting a demand for payment of an outstanding balance that does not have to be sent by certified mail.
