I had a contract for a bid job with a customer. After receiving several progress payments and completing most of the work, he abruptly texted me and said don’t come back to the job site, send me a check for my last payment. He is now claiming he is unhappy with the quality of work and the timeline of completion as well as claiming I no showed to his job. There were no completion dates in the contract and I was on site everyday I was scheduled to be. 48 hours before receiving the text to stop coming, he had been talking about next steps and a future project to complete. He did not give me an opportunity to review what he claimed he was unhappy with or fix it. Is he in breach of contract and do I owe him any money at all? There is still money owed in the contract, however the job is not complete.
