I sued for 6100 for payment on finished work. They counter sued for 3 xs.

Not unusual actually when the customer is slow on making the final payment. They many times have gripes about the work or materials and once you sue for payment they countersue to get leverage. You should be very mindful of your time to answer the countersuit. It could be as little as 20 days from service.
