I'm trying to get my contractors license for painting. I was in jail for 2 days for driving without a license. Can that affect me for applying for the license. And it was a misdemeanor by the way.

A criminal records will slow down the licensing process. Fortunately, a misdemeanor is not a major event that would derail an application process. It depends on how old the criminal matter was. If more than 5 years ago.. no problem. If within last 5 years.. then you're going to have to jump through a lot hoops with CSLB.
