The timelines for a claimant when a Georgia Notice of Contest of Lien is provided in the notice language on the form as required by OCGA §44-14-368. Once a copy of the notice is received by the claimant, they must:
  1. Commence a lien action within 60 days from receipt of the notice; and
  2. File a Notice of Commencement of Lien Action within 30 days of filing the lien action.
Both are required within these timeframes. If a lien enforcement action is filed, but no notice of commencement is filed within the deadline, then the lien will expire 90 days after the Notice of Contest of Lien has been filed.

What does OCGA 51-1-11 do? Is there a timeline when this is us to contest?
