Hi, I am a 20-year-old contractor who cannot get a b-class license because of my age, my grandfather however has a sole propriety license and is willing to convert it to an LLC. Can I act as one of the owners while using his license if he does so? thanks
If you are registered with the SOS and CSLB as member-manager of the actively licensed LLC then you with your grandfather can use the LLC's license. FYI, typically its cheaper and easier to have a corporation rather than an LLC for construction businesses in California. Your grandfather can go to the california secretary of state website to apply.
