It's been over four weeks and our builder says they're still waiting for the building permit to be released from the village. They told us it would take about two weeks. We asked someone at the village's building department for the status of the permit and they said there has not been one filed yet! They asked who the builder is, we told them, and they said "that's the problem." Can we get out of our contract and get our deposit back?
