Can my house be seized by the government and is this likely? What other options do I have?

Oregon

I inherited my mother's manufactured home when she died. She never paid any of the property taxes since she was barely able to afford any food after the monthly rent on the park parcel took about 80% of her social security check, so property tax was like out of the question, and now, I am living in the house, have invested a great deal into it's upkeep , upgrade, and have my whole life in this house. and keep getting notices from the county that over 9K is due for property tax and the interest that has built up. The house is paid for but the rent here for the land it sits on is so much and it has doubled In the years since she passed away. What I want to know is can my house be seized by the government and is this likely? What other options do I have? I've been afraid to ask them directly at the tax collector office because I don't want to draw attention to it. Is it better to pay a little bit of it or just keep quiet? I don't want to open Pandora's Box by paying just a little of the huge debt. Any advice welcome.

Morning, I am sorry that you are in this situation. Unfortunately this isn't our speciality as we specialize in construction mechanics liens, but as a Credit Manager for the last 20 years, i could suggest contacting them and setting up a payment arrangement, or contacting an attorney for a free legal consultation.

Please let me know if I can help you in any other way.
