If I missed my date to file a preliminary notice can I still file a lien

Do you have a subcontract with the general or prime contractor? If so, the 30 day preliminary notice to contractor is not required. if you are a lower tier sub, you may not be able to file a lien depending on whether the GC or owner complied with the requirement that a notice of commencement be recorded in the property records where the project is located.
