Can I Place a lien on a job that I just finished, the owner is not paying me.

I am a general Contractor and the house is finished and the owner is not paying me, Can I place a lien now?

Yes, as a GC, you have 60 days from recordation of a notice of completion, or 90 days from completion, so long as no notice of completion was recorded, to record a lien. Don't delay.

If your contract was directly with the owner, and if it’s been less than 90 days since the project was completed, then you should be able to file a lien. I’m assuming this is a private job and that no Notice of Completion was recorded. I’m happy to answer any questions you have about this.
