Can I lien?

California

I’m a contractor who had an agreement for a set price with the homeowner for the whole project. My electrical sub accidentally sent the homeowner invoices for work done but now the homeowner won’t pay for anymore of the contract because he feels he’s paid enough. He doesn’t take into account that there’s overhead and expenses above the Sub costs. What can I do?

Depending upon the language of your contract and other factors, and based on the limited facts described, you should have all contractual, mechanic's lien, and stop payment notice remedies available. Before pursuing these remedies, I would send the homeowner a demand letter pursuant to the notice provisions of your contract laying out your right to payment under specific provisions of the contract with a deadline for payment.
