Can I lien a company or property if I haven't been paid.


We were hired to do a job for wrights Excavating here in Florida here on March 4th. Since that date we have been given run around with the company saying until they get paid now they will not be paying us. We have contacted them numerus time's

Florida's Construction Lien Law allows for liens on property for the contracted value of labor, services and materials "incorporated" into the property. There is no provision for liens against contracting companies. This area of the law is complicated, but it can be used to "level the playing field" to get payment. You should consult with a lawyer about your specific situation.

It's possible the GC placed a pay when paid clause in your contract, that would permit the contractor to withhold payment until it is paid. Check for this.
