Can I file a mechanics lien?

California

I'm a General contractor who oversaw a project and did minimal work at this property that added up to $22,000 But I didn't file a prelien notice, can I still file a mechanics lien?

If you are in direct contract with the owner and did work on the project, you are entitled to claim a mechanics lien even if you did not serve a preliminary notice.

If you have a direct contract with the property owner, you’re not required to have sent a preliminary notice. That means you can lien the property without having sent a preliminary notice if you satisfied the requirements. I’m happy to answer any questions you have about this.
