Can I file a mechanic lien

California

I'm a sub who was working for a contactor on a job that ended in May. I know I have 90 days to file from the day of leaving the job but I'm not sure what to file - Intent to lien?

You will want to file a mechanic’s lien not an intent to lien. Your 90 day lien window starts from completion of the entire project, not just your work. As a subcontractor, you’re required to have first timely served a preliminary notice on the owner and general contractor before you have any lien rights. I’m happy to answer any questions you have about this.
