Can I file a mechanics lien as a landlord on a past tenant that cost me a lot of money towards a contractor to fix the apartment?

Unfortunately, mechanics liens are only for construction contractors and suppliers who provide work or materials to a project. In order to collect from the tenant, you would have to pursue a law suit or some other legal remedy.
