I have a contract via text. I have a price for work to be done. They agreed. We finished 85% of the work. They said they were not happy with results so far and said they would get someone to fix our job. We offered to go in and make things right. They denied us that. There's been no altercations. Can I file a lien for my text contract that they won't give me an opportunity to correct.
Give my firm a call. In indiana you can contract in that manner, however, there are a number of statutes at play here namely, the Home Improvement Contract Act, Statutory Home Improvement Warranty Act, as well as the lien statutes that could void the agreement. There are deadlines for the lien to be perfected. I need some more context for dates and scope of work as well. Attorney Nick Podlaski Podlaski LLP. 260-782-1712
