Can I file a lien?

Arizona

I am a subcontractor who did some work for a contractor on an owner occupied home. The contractor has gotten in financial problems and has not paid me for my completed work. Can I file a lien against the property, or am I prevented from doing that since it is owner occupied?

You can lien an owner occupied residential property as long as you have a written contract directly with the owner, you are a licensed contractor, and you sent a valid and timely preliminary 20-day notice.
