Can I do a change of address after a lien has been filed?

Texas

I submitted a job address for a lien, but the address was incorrect and we need to update it. How do I proceed? Do I have to do a release of lien on the first property and then create another lien on the new address?

The legal analysis would start with a review of your contract, and then extend to any communications you have had concerning the project, including particularly the notices to owner and original contractor.

A mechanic's lien typically is based on a legal description, and not necessarily the street address. If the legal description was correct, and the pre-lien notices were properly issued, you may consider filing and mailing an amended mechanic's lien affidavit.

Retain a construction attorney to evaluate your legal position, and to provide advice.

Good luck.
