Can I charge interest on a mechanic lein

I have a mechanic lein on a property It has been two years do I have the right to charge interest?

No, unfortunately you cannot get the interest as part of the lien. In the case National Lumber Co. v. United Casualty and Surety Insurance Company, Inc., et al. , 440 Mass. 723 (2004), the court determined that contractual interest and reasonable attorney's fees could not be included in the mechanic's lien. http://masscases.com/cases/sjc/440/440mass723.html
