I filed a lien on a project in California and have 83 days to enforce a lien claim. Can I amend this lien without risk?

Without risk? No such thing!
Attorneys have different approaches when it comes to amending a mechanics lien. But it really depends what you are trying to amend (e.g., dollar amount vs. project address vs. name of owner etc.). With such little time remaining, I strongly suggest you contact a California construction attorney ASAP to discuss your specific situation and possible options to amend the lien (or other action).
