When a Florida construction project is bonded, subcontractors, suppliers, and others on the job are generally entitled to look to that payment bond for recovery. Note, though, that a Notice to Contractor or Notice to Owner must generally be sent in order to preserve that right to file a bond claim. We've recently discussed those notice requirements on another Expert Center question and answer, and I think that will be valuable here: Is it too late for Notice to Owner? Further, these resources should come in handy when parsing notice and bond claim ("Notice of Nonpayment") requirements: - Florida Bond Claim Guide and FAQs - How To Make A Florida Payment Bond Claim - Florida Notice of Nonpayment – Important Changes to the Bond Claim Process
