Can a Mechanics Lien be placed on office furniture in a leased office space?

We subcontracted a vendor / installer to supply pre-owned cubicle at a client location in NYC, we paid the vendor but it turned out that the bank account we ACH'd funds to was fraudulent and our sub-contractor never received the funds. We are trying to get $ back from bank. In the interim, they want to place a mechanics lien on the cubicles that are already installed at client's location. Located in leased office space in Brooklyn
