Hello, I recently had a friend perform work in my house in KCMO. I just found out he doesn’t have business license. We had a contract in which I termed based on the quality of work. The total was about $3k. I had already paid $1,500. I had to tear out all the finished work and am starting over with new contractor. He is saying he is going to put lien against my house. How does it work when payment is not made for unsatisfactory work?
