Can a mechanic's lien be filed against a property that has been sold to a new owner?

Property was sold prior to any lien actions being taken

Generally, no, once the property switches title, it is too late to assert a mechanic's lien. The one excpetion is where the new owner was not bona fide, ie, had knoweldge of the unpaid amounts due to the lien claimaint before purchasing the property.
