I recently filed a lien against a contractor in Santa Rosa Ca. I understand that he plans to Bond around my lien. What does that mean and how does it affect my right to claim payment? What can I do in response?
It means that a bonding company will be stepping in the process. Bonding around a lien only means that you won't be suing the property owner to foreclose the lien but instead the bonding company. It's in some ways better for you.
You still need to file a lawsuit within 90 days of recording the lien. Me or probably just about any other construction lawyer on this site can do that for you.
Thank you Sean. Can I get an idea of how much this kind of service would cost? The lien is $11k . Is it worth it?
