Good Morning, I received an email that says my mechanics lien has been delayed on my project because the document is incomplete. The county will not say why is is listed as incomplete. Can you help me? What do I need to have to file a mechanics lien in the state of Arkansas?

The requirements for an Arkansas mechanics lien can be found under Arkansas Code §18-44-117. This outlines all the information and attachments needed to properly file your claim. There are technically only three main requirements:

A true and just account of the demand due or owing... after allowing all credits
A legal description of the property (street address won't suffice)
A sworn statement (affidavit) verifying compliance with all the notice requirements; with attachments.

The attachments in the sworn statement, include a copy of each required notice must be attached as well. This includes both the preliminary Notice to Owner & Contractor, and the Notice of Intent to Lien. Claimant's should also include both their information and the property owner's information, along with a description of the labor or materials provided, and the last date the labor and/or materials were provided.
