As a subcontract am I required to have a preliminary notice even though I am under contract with a GC

LouisianaMechanics Lien

I am a sub contractor on a commercial job and GC doesnt want to pay as per contract. I was not aware of any kind of notice from the start to the owner in order to be able to file a Lien.

You may not have to give notice, but it often assists with securing payment for you, as the owner may not be aware that the GC has not paid you. Give us a call if you have additional questions or would like us to give you more specific guidance. 504-323-5885
