To dispute a lien, you send a notice of lien contest to the claimant at the address shown in the claim of lien. You must send it by certified mail or by statutory overnight service (UPS or Federal Express). The claimant then has 60 days to take further action on the claim, rather than the normal time period of one year after the date the claim was recorded.
